Inflorescence– Head arranged in dense terminal corymb. 
 
Flower– Homogamous, all flowers are tubular and hermaphrodite, actinomorphic, bracts of involucre linear, acute, ribbed, epigynous and light blue or violet. 
 
Calyx– Pappus 5, scales free above but connate at the base, awned, valvate. 
 
Corolla– Petals 5, gamopetalous, tubular, superior, valvate aestivation. 
 
Androecium– Stamens 5, epipetalous, syngenesious, anthers dithecous, basifixed and introrse. 
 
Gynoecium– Bicarpellary, syncarpous, ovary inferior, unilocular with one ovule, basal placentation, style long, stigma bifid. 
 
Fruit– Cypsela.
