Grow a garlic plant indoors in 6 steps

Growing a Softneck variety of garlic is best for indoors such as Early White or Spanish White.

Separate individual cloves from the bulb and place it in a resealable bag with slightly moist soil and place them in the refrigerator for 4-6 weeks to vernalize.

Fill a 6-inch deep pot with drainage holes with potting mix that is rich in organic matter.

Remove the cloves from the refrigerator and plant them 1-2 inches deep. The pointed end of the clove should be facing up. Keep a distance of 4-6 inches between each clove.

Place the pot in a place with at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight. Water it only when the top soil starts to dry. Avoid overwatering.

After 6-8 months, the garlic bulbs will be ready to harvest. Dig it out of the soil.
