Growing lemongrass at home is easy. It is a plant that requires little care. It is used in tea and many dishes. Lets see how to grow this at home :

Choose the right place: To grow lemongrass, choose a place where it gets 6-8 hours of sunlight a day. It grows well in a warm place.

Get lemongrass stalks or seeds: Stalks: Buy fresh lemongrass stalks from the market and grow them. Seeds: You can also grow lemongrass from seeds, but they take longer to grow than stalks.

Root the stalks: Place the fresh stalks in a glass of water. Put the glass in a sunny spot and change the water every 2-3 days. Roots will form within 1-2 weeks.

Prepare the soil: Use well-draining, fertile soil mixed with compost or organic matter. Keep the soil slightly acidic to neutral pH (5.5-7.0)

Plant Lemongrass: Plant them when the roots become 2 inches long. Space the stalks about 12-18 inches apart. Keep the base of the stalks covered with soil.

Watering: Lemongrass loves moisture, so water regularly to keep the soil evenly moist.

Fertilizing: Feed lemongrass with a balanced liquid fertilizer or compost every 3-4 weeks to promote healthy growth.

Care and Maintenance: Keep weeds away from the plant to keep it growing well. Remove weeds. Prune dead or dry leaves regularly.

Harvesting: Start harvesting when the plant is 12-18 inches tall (usually after 3-4 months). Cut the stalks close to the ground using sharp scissors or a knife.
