Growing parsley at home is easy and perfect for adding fresh flavor to your meals.
Choose the right spot:
Parsley grows best in partial sun but can tolerate full sun if the weather is not too hot.
Prepare the soil:
Mix compost well into the soil. The soil should be well-drained and have a pH of 6.0-7.0. If planting in a pot, make sure it has drainage holes.
Choose the seeds:
You can get the seeds from a gardening store. Soak the seeds in water for 12-24 hours before planting to improve germination.
Sowing the seeds:
Fill a pot at least 8-12 inches deep with soil. Scatter the seeds thinly and cover them with a thin layer of soil (1/4 inch deep).
Water the soil:
Water the soil lightly immediately after sowing. Keep the soil consistently moist, but do not let it become waterlogged.
Care and maintenance:
Water the pot regularly, making sure the soil does not dry out. Use a balanced fertilizer every 3-4 weeks and remove weeds from around the plant.
Thin the Plants:
When the seedlings are 2-3 inches tall, thin them out from the sides and maintain a distance of about 6-8 inches between plants for healthy growth.
Harvesting:
Start harvesting when the parsley is 6-8 inches tall (usually after 60-75 days). Cut the outer leaves first, allowing the middle leaves to grow.
