The Medicinal Plants

Indoor Hanging plant- Dischidia: Floral formula

Dischidia (String of Nickels / Million Hearts) is a unique and beautiful trailing epiphytic hanging plant, native to tropical regions. Its leaves are small, round, thick, and glossy—resembling coins or beads—and are arranged along long, trailing stems. In some species, the leaves are heart-shaped, which is why it is also known as “Million Hearts.” This plant is an epiphyte (air-growing) and, with proper support, can grow up to 3 meters in length. Its flowers are small, typically white or yellow in color. Dischidia thrives in low-light conditions, with minimal watering and well-draining soil. It acts as an air purifier and looks magnificent in hanging baskets as part of home decor. It can be easily propagated using cuttings.
